Discover Sintra's fantastic World Heritage Site

About

On this tour you will get to know all the monuments that are part of Sintra's heritage.
In 1992, UNESCO expanded the World Heritage categories and added the Cultural Landscape.

Sintra was classified as a World Heritage Site under the category of ""Cultural Landscape"" on December 6, 1995, during the 19th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Berlin.

The tour starts with a climb up the mountain to see the Moorish Castle, a wall built during the Islamic occupation and finally the Royal Palace, the Palácio da Pena built in two different times, served to the monks and later to a king of Portugal, after that you'll have the opportunity to see one of the most mysterious places in Sintra: Quinta da Regaleira, a place linked to Freemasonry that looks like a fairy castle, a place you can't miss and you'll want to discover until the end. In Monserrate Park, visit its palace with a mixture of Arab and Indian styles and its botanical garden. After a short break to taste our traditional pastry and its history, but don't tell anyone, it's a surprise!

The journey continues to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in Europe and follows the road along the coast, passing by Praia do Guincho and Boca do Inferno, ending in Cascais.

All monuments can be visited from the inside, taking into account their closing time, if you don't want to go inside all of them, you can always take photos from the outside. This can change the estimated time for the end of the tour.

NOTE: On some occasions there may be traffic restrictions so the route may change at the last minute.
