About the Tour
On this tour you will discover the places that make Sintra the magical place it is.
In 1992, UNESCO expanded the World Heritage categories and added the Cultural Landscape.
Sintra was classified as a World Heritage Site under the category of "Cultural Landscape" on December 6, 1995, during the 19th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Berlin.
Our day trip to Sintra begins with one of the most mysterious places in Sintra: Quinta da Regaleira, a place linked to Freemasonry that looks like a fairy castle, a place you can't miss and that you'll want to discover until the end. Further on in Monserrate Park is its palace with a mixture of Arabic and Indian styles and its botanical garden, then there's a brief stop to savour our traditional cuisine in a local restaurant.
From here, we'll cross a part of the forest to the village of Colares, where you'll be able to discover the beaches of Sintra and even get your feet wet in our waters.
We will continue along the coast until reaching the westernmost point of Europe, Cabo da Roca.
Then we head back up the mountain, through our mystical forest, with its leafy grove, to see the Moorish Castle, the wall built in the era of Islamic occupation and finally the royal palace, the Pena Palace built in two At different times he served monks and then a King of Portugal.
All monuments can be visited from the inside, taking into account their closing time, if you don't want to go inside all of them, you can always take photos from the outside. This can change the estimated time for the end of the tour.
WARNING: Some monuments have a slot system for purchasing tickets, so we recommend buying them in advance to guarantee entry and avoid queues.
Most of the roads are one-way, so there may be some traffic that affects the time of the tour. On some occasions there may also be traffic restrictions, so the route may change at the last minute.
