Fatima, Óbidos & Nazaré

Discover the diversity of Portugal

About

On this tour you will get to know three very different Portuguese villages.

Fátima is a city in central Portugal that houses the Sanctuary of Fátima, a place of Catholic pilgrimage. The Chapel of Apparitions marks the place where the Virgin Mary would have appeared in 1917. Other sacred sites include the Basilica of Nossa Senhora do Rosário with its golden angels and the modern Church of the Holy Trinity.

Also in Fátima you will visit the factory where religious objects are created and restored from all over the country, the place with the greatest diversification of religious items and all kinds of devout accessories, but also wines, and other typical Portuguese souvenir items .

Leaving Fátima, we stop at Grutas da Moeda, limestone caves located near Cova da Iria, in the city of Fátima. They are considered the most beautiful caves in Portugal. At the end of this visit, a tasting of a local liquor is included.

The Nazaré promontory, where the lighthouse is located, separates two very different beaches. South of the lighthouse is a calmer beach, the main beach in Nazaré. North of the lighthouse, the well-known Praia do Norte, has a much braver temperament, due to the Nazaré canyon - creator of giant waves, where the sea offers a unique spectacle!

The medieval town of Óbidos is one of the most picturesque and well preserved in Portugal.
In 2007 Óbidos Castle was declared by the Concurso das Sete Maravilhas de Portugal the second of the seven most important monuments of Portuguese architectural heritage.

On December 11, 2015, UNESCO named Óbidos a literary city as part of the Creative Cities Network program. Here you can stroll through its medieval streets and taste the typical liqueur, Ginginha de Óbidos .
